Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time (PS5)
Sometimes people talk enough praise about a game I get sucked in. Selling this to me as Harvest moon meets Maplestory meets Runescape was enough for me to get invested. The game has a surprisingly fun little plot that does setup better than about 40+ hours of Tokyo Mirage Sessions.

The game has you get a LIFE and become one of fourteen jobs available. Some classes are locked for later though. There are combat focused jobs, gathering focused jobs, and crafting focused jobs. The minigames between all of these jobs are sadly identical but the quest lines are not. Each job, and yes you can switch freely, has you report to a different master and their right hand person. They send you on quests, and each has their own mini plot. This is always fun to see in games in addition to the main plot.

The main plot here is all about this bone dragon, the islands history, and time travelling. There is a mystery afoot and we just might have time for it while I boil eggs and gather flowers to finish my quests.

The combat is thankfully action based and the game manages to dance the line between informative without being hand holdy. I'm looking forward to putting more time into it.
