Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN)
For the Achievement of the Month at RA I cleared the first and second dungeons which was the goal cheevo. My feelings on this game are a little better than they were when I first played this as a teenager. While I always loved the look and sound of the game, I wasn't a big fan of sailing or the controls. None of those feelings have changed.

For all the great feeling the sword combat can have when it works, when it doesn't it is aggravating. When Link fails to crouch or grab something it just seems like a common task being missed. There are some positive things to say though. The sailing although more boring than I remember isn't as bad as I remember. The wind changing isn't as annoying either.

I think my biggest compliment is the dungeon design. Too often we complain these Zelda dungeons are completely straight forward and then when a water temple hits we pout. I think Forsaken Fortress, Dragon Roost, and whatever the plant dungeon was called are straight forward but open enough without handholding to let you actually figure out the journey. I really appreciated that and they all felt more satisfying.

But screw the grapple rope that thing stinks.
