Mario Kart World (Switch2)
The Switch 2 is here and it feels like the Switch evolved up a level. It pretty much feels just like the Switch 1 although bigger and sturdier joycons. I also grabbed the pro controller and wow what a feel this baby has. Mario Kart World itself looks great, I really dig the wider tracks. The chaos of 24 people is well absolute chaos at times.

Item wise the biggest change I noticed was the hammers which are pretty fun to throw into a crowd. The knockout tour is a neat idea but feels a bit cheap on 150CC. The big gimmick for the Grand Prix is you drive to the next course. The way they phrased this during trailers I thought you would finish the race then drive to the next starting line and that determined start grid. Nope, instead you actually have course 2 be literally driving between tracks. It is an interesting idea, sometimes these travelling courses don't feel as good though.

The open world free roam mode is where you search for collectibles and do side missions. Unfortunately the game doesn't show you what you've found already or mark anything on the map. So much of the maps barren that it feels more of a time waster than an experience.

Food unlocking random costumes is a very neat mechanic, and props to Nintendo for not allowing people to cheese these by swapping characters constantly. Ha.
