Press Start To Play
For six years, I wrote for other people’s sites, and eventually, I ran my own—the little web magazine that could: Empty Lifebar. We ran for four years before closing shop. As time passed, I found myself missing it. I’ve chased a lot of projects since then, and I’ve failed more often than not. So this is something of an anti-project.
Rather than chasing success in a medium many consider dead—especially in this genre, where only a handful of big names still write about video games while the rest have shifted entirely to video—I’m choosing to do this for the love of the craft.
The plan is simple: I’ll be blogging about my gaming from the day before. Occasionally, I’ll write pieces or share impressions on specific gaming topics, or weigh in on the news in the gaming world. Even now, when I don’t always play the latest titles, I still keep up with what’s happening.
If I stick with this and keep writing, that alone will make me proud. And if you happen to read it too? Well, that’s just the cherry on top.
