Recap: Summer Games Fest 2025
Geoff Keighley's big show had a lot of shockers and a sea of forgettable games. Still this was finally a year without a ton of cringe ad tie ins, and we remained Among Us free one more year. Sort of, there was a clone of it but the actual game remained absent.

Mortal Shell 2 (Everything)

The Indie Souls game gets its sequel. There was a lot of positive comments about this one when the first launched. It didn't get the love Lies of P did but it was decently received.
Sonic Racing: Crossworlds (Everything)

After Team Sonic Racing bombed back in 2019 the series seemed dead until this was announced. While this was old hat for this event we got a taste of how cross these worlds were getting with Ichiban Kasuga from Like A Dragon, Joker from Persona, Hatsune Miku, and Steve from Minecraft...so far.
Code Vein II (Everything)

The anime souls are back again from Bandai Namco. The first game had a lukewarm reaction but Namco Bandai loves trying things twice before they bail for good.
Mouse PI For Hire (Everything)

Take the over the top old cartoon style into a FPS filled with constant action and animated violence. This looks like a fun romp for those that enjoy old school fps boomer shooters.
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros (Everything)

5 years too late comes a real time strategy game based on the last two seasons of Game of Thrones I guess. This game will have a few factionized campaigns and let you alter the story like Jon Snow dies and becomes the Night King's #2.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion (Everything)

This one was announced before but the big reveal was She Hulk and Rocket Raccoon are joining the frey.
Felt That Boxing (PC)

In what was one of the strangest games of the night, a boxing game with puppets that looks like it plays out like an FMV game.
Mio (Everything)

Strange little metroidvanias get my interest everytime.
Out of Words (Everything)
A 2d puzzle platformer with coop that gives strong Unraveled vibes. The two main characters have had their mouths stolen so they cannot talk anymore.
Lego Voyagers (Everything)

Essentially Lego Builders 2, this is another isometric camera based puzzle coop adventure.
Lies of P: Overture
The dlc for Lies of P shadowdropped during the event, always fun!
Mina the Hollower (Everything)

Mina resurfaces and with a release date for October. It looks good but I wonder if the zelda like will catch on.
Scott Pilgrim EX (Everything)

The biggest surprise of the event was this coming out of nowhere. Taking place after the events of the original game/graphic novel/movie it features Scott and Ramona returning to Toronto to save it from gang takeover. The original creator on board and its by the Shredder's Revenge team? Take my money.

As an Alex player I'm pretty excited. Storywise this will be the first time Sagat has appeared since 5 as he sits out the events of 3 in world. C Viper was briefly encountered in 5 but she was too new to exist for 3. Alex will be the most predictable as he was just getting introduced in 5 as 3 was his game. Ingrid is baffling, as she was only officially in Alpha 3 which means shes been out of commission storywise since it would be about 15 years since she was seen as Street Fighter 6 is around the late 2000s in universe.
Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver (PC)

I have no idea about this one. It's an action rpg based on the Wu Tang Clan in 2025
Stranger Than Heaven (Everything)
The game formally known as Project Century is now this and the latest Yakuza game...I think? I mean it has all the makings and markings its in universe.
Resident Evil: Requiem (Everything)
Earlier in the show they teased RE9 wouldn't make the show and it'd be soon, apparently that meant an hour later. This game looks to be set after the bombing of Raccoon City, 8 years after RE3 which puts it happening around the time Resident Evil 5 is going on. A young frazzled FBI Agent is sent back to the city to track a serial killer and ends up captured. The game play is supposedly going to revolutionize the series again.
